As of today, more than 110 players from
19 states and two Canadian provinces have already registered (paid) for the
2009 NASC™. Based on our historical averages, this puts us on a pace for a
total turnout of 220 to 230 players.
Please help! If you are planning on being at the tournament on Saturday,
October 31, but have not yet registered, please let us know so that we can
be properly prepared for the welcome breakfast. In case you missed this in
the last BoardBits™, a free welcome breakfast, compliments of the Sands and
The Shuffleboard Federation, will take place in the tournament area on the
morning of Saturday, October 31 at 9:00 a.m. Breakfast will include, bacon
and eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, assorted
pastries, juice and coffee. If you plan on coming to the tournament, but
have not yet registered, please either pre-register, or let us know you are
coming so that we can plan accordingly.
Airfare alert: while fares have gone up in many markets, there are still
some exceptional deals out there. Some examples are Dallas for $262,
Detroit, Philadelphia and Indianapolis for $250, Omaha for $246, Kansas
City for $243, Houston for $249, and Denver for $220.
If you have been enjoying the "blast from the past", here is the
next "Picture Of The Day", a collection of memorable photos from
the NASC™. Thanks to Ann Harrell, who has posted previous editions on the
newsletters section of her web site, which you can visit by clicking eshuffleboard.com.
