20th Annual NASC™
Five weeks from today, players from all
over the U.S. and Canada will be arriving in Reno. It will be a great night
as everyone is practicing the boards and enjoying the company of old
friends, as well as meeting some new ones. There will also be the big rematch
between myself and crowd favorite Jay Thiel, Vice President and General
Manager. Those of you who were there last year probably remember that Jay
and I played a game, with the loser buying a round of drinks for the
everyone in the room. I was extremely fortunate to win that game, but Jay
promises he will be ready for me this time.
Registration continues to be very strong and up more than 20% over last
year. The early registration deadline is just a couple of weeks away
(October 12). Don't wait until the last minute and end up paying late fees.
Send in your registration form today, or register online at www.2009nasc.com.
There are still some great airfares out there, but prices are going up, and
the number of seats available at the lower fares are dwindling. You may
want to check out www.bing.com/travel
to find the best airfare. I used it to book all of the airline tickets for
the tournament staff and have found it to be a great site. If you are
looking for a room and airfare package, the best deals can be found at www.aavacations.com.
If you have been enjoying the "blast from the past", here is the
next "Picture Of The Day" (there are actually two of them this
time), a collection of memorable photos from the NASC™. Thanks to Ann
Harrell, who has posted previous editions on the newsletters section of her
web site, which you can visit by clicking eshuffleboard.com.
