We are pleased to announce to announce
that one of shuffleboard's greatest promoters/supporters will be honored
with the 2010 George & Donna Wilber Award. This is the second year for
the award, which last year went to Bracket Man extraordinaire, Rob Kern.
Gerald and his Full House Bar & Grill in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, are a
great example of how to promote shuffleboard, through a mix of leagues and
tournaments. Though Wynnewood is a very small town, it is, as a result of
Gerald's efforts, a shuffleboard powerhouse. Gerald was honored in 2008 as
the recipient of the Southwest Open's Don Crall Award. Gerald will receive
the George & Donna Wilber award on the evening of Friday, November 5,
in conjunction with the presentation of the Sol Lipkin award and TSA Hall
of Fame induction ceremony for Tommy Workman.
This year is the 21st for the tournament, and the 20th straight year that
it has been at the Sands Regency. Friday nights at the NASC™ have become
legendary, with the Anniversary Party, open bar, free food, up to $10,000
in cash prizes, raffle prizes, music and dancing. In the upcoming weeks,
BoardBits™ will feature some pictures of the Friday night festivities,
including pictures from the Anniversary Party, Sol Lipkin Award
presentations, Hall of Fame induction ceremonies and the George & Donna
Wilber Award presentation.

The Shuffleboard Federation and the Sands Regency Casino Hotel recently
signed a contract extension which will keep the NASC™ at the Sands through
2015. The 2009 Tournament kicked off with a complimentary all you can eat
breakfast, which included bacon and eggs, sausage links, biscuits and
gravy, breakfast potatoes, assorted pastries, juice and coffee. This was a
huge hit and, as part of our new contract with the Sands, the breakfast has
been made a permanent addition to the Tournament.
If you are planning on attending the tournament, but have not signed up
yet, you can register online with a credit card or PayPal by clicking http://www.2010nasc.com.
